NOVÉ ETUDY PRO KYTARU by Milan Zelenka / Jana Obrovská

Recording these "new etudes" (NOVÉ ETUDY - published in 1974) from Czechia meant a karmic lot to me. Please visit youtube to watch my 3-part-series.
It is my hommage to the czech tradition of guitar playing which I naturally became a part of, i. e. through my conservatory studies with Zdenka Schulz (1996–2001). To her these recordings are dedicated.

Hereby presenting the world premiere of MY FIVE CENTS’ WORTH.
Written in 2014, this work is dedicated to the stellar Lilit Mardiyan whom I got to know during guitar festivals in Germany. In creating this piece for string quartet & guitar I followed Lilit’s inspiration.
MY FIVE CENTS’ WORTH is an ensemble piece in five movements, accomplishing equal sound, equal goals; the guitar is featured in a few solo spots.
The premiere ensemble, consisting of members of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (ANPO) together with Lilit Mardiyan, found their own unique approach to the piece. There were only a few hints that I had given them.
Find the musical score in the downloads section.
